Elizabeth was the second and final child born to House Lysel, one of the wealthiest and consistantly powerful families in Megam. Despite her House's high profile and rich history, Elizabeth's elder brother, Destin, absorbed most of the pressure of their condition, leaving Elizabeth reliatively free of expectation, something which she has been eternally grateful for.
From a very early age, Lizzie was her father's pride and joy. She was prettty and charming and smiled brightly, and in return, Lucius showered her with love and attention, extravagant gifts and his constant love and support in everything she did. She could really do no wrong for her father, and she loved him very much, so she was happy with her situation in her childhood. She was close with her brother, and her daddy's special girl, and her mother more or less let her be. She even had the joy of an extended second family through the almost equally prestigious House Theane. Her life was carefree and she was happy.
But there came a time when she realized that not everything was perfect, as she began to enter adolescence, as all eventually do. She saw that her mother and her father were dreadfully unhappy in their marriage and realized that the one expectation that had always been dangled above her could end her up as demure and joyless as her mother. She saw how her father didn't love Destin as he did her, and she began to guility regret the atttention he lavished on her, but couldn't bear the thought of losing her special place at her father's side to speak to him on her brother's behalf. She saw how her peers were preparing for lives filled with husband and children and mindless devotion and she saw her worst possible future.
Elizabeth has reacted in the only way she knows how, by acting as she always has and relying on her father to keep her safe from the future she doesn't want. She pretends to look forward to her wedding day as any girl does, but she dreads its coming. So far, her mother's passive insistance that she begin seriously looking for a husband hasn't stirred her father into any sort of action, but Elizabeth knows that she's no longer a young girl, and she can't avoid her fate much longer.
As the first truly reliable reports of the doctrines preached by the Prophet Melyndra in Atsiria have began to reach the general Megami public, Elizabeth has been ashamed to find herself reacting with acute interest rather than digust ...
PERSONALITY ;;
Lively, witty, and unconventional, Elizabeth has always been vastly different from her demure and pious Megami peers. In her youth, this was mostly the result of spending most of her time around two boys, and having few boundaries raised by her loving father, but as she grew older, Elizabeth began to cultivate this personality purposely, to set herself apart from the faceless drones that make up her country's women. She looks down on almost all of them, and has little love for the things she sees as responsible for the blossoming of this culture: religion, convention, loveless marriage.
Elizabeth sees her future marriage as being the end of her happiness, and the idea fills her with fear. She's seen her parents' loveless marriage all her life, and seen, too, the cold relationship between Emery's mother and father -- and that of most noble couples she meets. She doesn't care for the power and autonomy that could be hers to share if she marries smart -- she has no wish for political power and is more than happy with the freedoms that she has in her home with her own family. Elizabeth has no ambitions apart from being happy with who and where she is, and as such, the only way she can go is down.
She enjoys baiting traditional Megami taboos by talking back in men in power over her and being openly flirtious. These rebellions are small, however, and she doesn't know exactly how she'd react when and if she were confronted with the possibly of doing something seriously taboo.
Elizabeth struggles hard with the guilt she feels at choosing her father's continued love over her brother's happiness. She rationalizes that there's no guarantee her father would listen if she did defend her brother, and Destin wouldn't want her to sacrifice her closeness with her father for nothing, but with little result.
Despite all of the peculiarities of her personality, Elizabeth has an easy time making friends. She's upbeat and outgoing to the extreme, and is usually fun to be near. She gets a lot of her worth from the love she feels from others, and so she seeks out friendships actively on her own terms. However, she has very few really close friends, and the only person she truly trusts with most of her feelings is her brother, with whom she shares almost everything, except for the one issue they have an unspoken agreement to never bring up.
She sincerely tries not to let any of her negative feelings drag her down daily -- not because of any need to keep up appearances, but just because she's more or less happy with the way things are, and there's really nothing more she can do than what she's already doing to change the inevitable future.

Her hair is shoulder-length, but she usually wears it up in back and braids the front, which makes it look considerably shorter. She likes to wear bright colours, and her cheerful, lively nature can make her look younger than she actually is. While not a great beauty, she's pretty enough.
